Shauna’s Fantatstic News

Just it let everyone know that Shauna competed in the Downs Syndrome Federation European Championships last Saturday and has added to her medal haul, with a silver in the 100m IM and a silver in the 50m breaststroke. Not only that but she was up at dawn on the Sunday for the 5 hour drive back to Liverpool, eager not to miss the club gala! Her other fantastic news is that she is one of only 4 swimmers selected to swim for GB at the Southern Californian Special Olympic Games in Los Angeles. There are several different sports, 14 different countries taking part with 1500 athletes , 300 coaches and thousands of spectators expected. Shauna flies out to Los Angeles with the other members of the GB team on 4th June, more information can be found on their website Mum and dad will of course be there to cheer her on. Well done to all LPSC Swimmers at Wigan Best Future Stars Open Meet

Well done to all LPSC Swimmers at Wigan Best Future Stars Open Meet A number of LPSC swimmers competed over the weekend (16th-17th Nov) at the Wigan Best Future Stars Open Meet. Although only 11 swimmers competed for LPSC, all achieved PB’s in events entered and many were placed in the top three! Rebecca Quinn achieved two 1st places and a 3rd, Anthony West a 1st (in a future stars record!!) and a 3rd and Alex McCarthy and Ryan Warriner also achieved 3rd places. LPSC swimmers were placed in the top ten in most of the events entered which meant that LPSC was placed 12th overall as a Team, which for such a small entry, was a really great achievement given the standard of the competition. This was a great event. All LPSC swimmers should continue to train hard so that we can enter a bigger team for next year. Well done to all LPSC...
